On June 18, 2006, The Church of The Way began in the home of Pastor Reinhold and Renate Buxbaum.  Quickly outgrowing that space, the church moved to another location for about one month; and then met for one year and seven months at a local restaurant, Dee’s Place. In April, 2008, we moved to our present church building at 1005 N. Ridgewood Drive, in historic downtown Sebring. The site includes the church, fellowship hall, education building, and a house that offers meeting rooms, a full kitchen, and office space for the Pastor and staff or can be utilized as a Parsonage.  Alongside the education building is a fenced yard with playground equipment for children. At the end of the 2015, our founding Pastor, Reinhold Buxbaum retired. He and Renate relocated to the mountains of North Carolina to start a new chapter in their lives.  During the spring of 2016, the church named Reinhold Pastor Emeritus of the Church of the Way.    Pastor Reinhold has conducted a monthly seminar, Monday Night in Prophesy, at Homers Smorgasbord, Sebring, focusing on prophesy of the bible for many years.  Though he and Renate are now “officially” retired he has continued this monthly seminar for the folks of Highland County, the first Monday of each month travelling down from North Carolina.

During 2016, Pastor John Nelson joined the Church of the Way as interim pastor.  He and his wife Bonnie were a blessing to the Church of the Way, as we experienced God’s growth and favor through their ministry.  Pastor John and Bonnie retired at the end of July 2019 after a wonderful fulfilling ministry at the Church of the Way in Sebring.
August 4, 2019 Pastor Daryl Brezee became the pastor at the Church of the Way.  We look forward to see what God will be doing through Pastor Daryl’s and his wife Christina’s ministry.  For more information about Pastor Daryl, Christina and their daughter Selah, please see the “About our Pastor” page.
